Dance Temple: Openings

Doors open at 6:45pm, circle will start at 7pm

Event fee: $20 cash at the door

Children under 14 yrs old are free, and must be attended at all times.

COSMIC DRUID:

Greetings, fellow dancers! I am Cosmic Druid, and I am honored to be your DJ for this dance temple event. I have been participating in dance temple for four years, and it has helped me open up on a level I never thought possible and I am honored to share this space with you. Dance temple has taught me to embrace change, explore new possibilities, and celebrate life and new beginnings. It has been a catalyst for me to become a DJ and hold space for others.

The auditory experience you can expect is to be taken on a journey through multiple genres weaving electronic and natural instruments to create a dynamic and diverse soundscape. I have been collecting a wide range of music to make my first Dance Temple set to be a very special experience.

The theme for this Dance Temple is “openings”, which for me represents the potential for new experiences and opportunities in the new year. We are in that liminal space of transition between the North American New year and the Lunar new year. Transitioning from the year of the Water Rabbit into the year of the Wood Dragon. The Wood Dragon is the most creative and visionary of the dragons, who are optimistic, ambitious, and adventurous. They are also generous, compassionate, and loyal to their friends. Therefore, this is a perfect time to tap into our inner Wood Dragon and open up our creativity, vision, and courage.

I hope to see you on the dance floor, where we can celebrate life, love, and joy together. I invite you to join me and make some magic happen!
