Thoughts Are Things

The ancestor of every action is a thought”

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

“What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.” ~ Buddha

Imagine this: every thought you've ever had is a brush stroke on the canvas of your life. Yes, each and every idea, belief and daydream shapes not just our personal worlds, but also those of our families, communities and countries. And here's the exciting part - once we understand what (or who) is ‘painting’ our reality, we gain the power to choose which colours and strokes to use next. This is the journey to awakening; the first step towards transforming our lives.

You see, we live in a sea of our own thoughts, and these invisible waves are the builders of our destiny. Our minds, often on autopilot, have quietly been creating our life paths. But… what if we switch to manual control?

Once we grasp the Law of the Universe, we can learn to consciously steer our thoughts towards the fulfillment of our deepest desires. Our thoughts are like magnets, silently pulling our dreams into reality.

Trust me, ‘if you work it, it works’.

Pause for a moment to ask yourself, “What tales has my mind been weaving? What beliefs form the soundtrack of my life?” Take a close look… . Your life is a mirror that is reflecting your inner ‘stories’ back to you. The big question is, are these tales helping you to thrive? Are you happy, peaceful, content and joyful?

Reflecting on the past can, indeed, be insightful. Yet, sometimes we can become fixated on unraveling every mystery of our history, forgetting that life is not just about where we've been, but also where we're headed. While understanding our past patterns is useful, it is our forward-thinking that sculpts our future experiences.

We are forever changing and ‘becoming’.

So, let's step out of the comfort zone of our pasts. Today is a new day; a fresh canvas. In every moment, we are actively designing our tomorrows, so let’s reflect on the words of master metaphysician, Ernest Holmes: “You who dare to fling your thought out into Universal Intelligence, and dare to claim all there is, will find an ever-creative good at hand to aid you.”

Right now, with each thought you have, you are creating your life's story. There are so many incredible new dreams within you, waiting to be expressed. Why not broaden your thinking? Dare to think bigger; beyond the ordinary. Imagine yourself as a beacon of light, with your unique gifts illuminating the world.

It's time to pop the champagne and celebrate, here and now. You're not just living your life, you are shaping it, moment by moment. Your thoughts are your paintbrush, and your intentions are the artist’s hand. Today is more than just another day; it's the opportunity to start anew; to rewrite your story.

Remember, you hold the power to create a masterpiece with your mind. So dream boldly, think positively, and watch as your world transforms around you.

Every thought is a seed of possibility, and you, my friend, are the gardener of your own destiny. Let your thoughts bloom into a garden of wonders. This is the first day of the rest of your life – make it a masterpiece!”

ACTIVITIES for TRANSFORMATION

Thought and Reality Journaling:

~ For a week, keep a daily journal. Each day, write down key thoughts you have, especially those that evoke strong emotions or reactions.

~ Next to each thought, note any real-life events or feelings that seem connected to that thought.

~ At the end of the week, review your journal. Look for patterns: How do certain thoughts align with your moods, interactions and experiences?

~ Reflect on whether these thoughts are empowering and are serving you well, or whether they are limiting you, and need to be changed.

~ Conclude the week by setting an intention to foster more positive, empowering thoughts in the following week.

Vision Board Creation:

~ Gather materials (like a large poster board, magazines, printouts, markers, glue, and scissors).

~ Think about your goals, dreams, and what you want your future to look like. (Consider all areas of your life: career, relationships, personal growth, health, etc).

~ Look for images and words from magazines or online that represent these goals and aspirations.

~ Arrange these images and words onto your poster board in a way that feels meaningful and inspiring to you, and glue them into place.

~ Display your vision board somewhere that you will see it every day. Use it as a daily reminder of the direction you want your thoughts and actions to take you in.
